Tivoli Workload Scheduler 8.x Release Upgrade Service

The Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) 8.1 Release introduced true end-to-end scheduling integration for IBM customers, integrating OPC (now called TWS for z/OS) on the mainframe with TWS on distributed platforms. Additional enhancements include improved performance and Linux support for TWS on distributed platforms, and a new Java-based Job Scheduling Console, providing a single interface for managing enterprise scheduling. The TWS 8.2 Release delivers updates to both schedulers, with primary focus on enhancing the Job Scheduler Console.

The TWS 8.x Upgrade Service offers TWS customers a thorough understanding of the features and enhancements in TWS 8.1 and 8.2, providing hands-on mentoring and knowledge transfer on understanding the benefits and administrative responsibilities of the new releases.

The Upgrade Service includes:

• Hands-on upgrade from TWS version 6.x or 7.x to TWS 8.x, including Domain Managers, Masters, Fault Tolerant Agents (FTAs), and Standard Agents in a development or test environment
• Install and configure the Tivoli Framework TMR and new Job Scheduling Console (JSC)
• Install TWS on a Linux server (if desired)
• Demonstrate new functionality and enhancements of the 8.x releases
• Explain end-to-end scheduler integration (if desired)
• Hands-on mentoring and knowledge transfer for System Administrators to operate and administer the 8.x release of TWS
